But instead of focusing on this incomplete essay, I prefer to share some valuable information here. What should be expected when seeking help from an educational consultant, especially if you are an immigrant?

Here are some observations that you should keep in mind when looking for someone to work with you or your family (son / daughter) in college admissions, especially if you are an international student:


         Find a professional who has at least some experience in the field of admissions. 
      
      Someone who has worked as an interviewer or in an admissions office can give an inside perspective on how admissions work. 

      In addition, he will probably be passionate about the subject, having demonstrated experience in working with students and in academic media.


1.     Find someone familiar with working with students and / or teenagers. A professional who has worked in  Education consultant in Pakistan , or who has experience with adolescents, can relate better to pre and post-graduate candidates than someone who has never worked with this age group.

Many times, you will find professionals who have worked with students in diverse environments, as counselors in nonprofit organizations or summer camps, as mentors, or even in the corporate world in companies that are dedicated to this specific group.

 Usually, individuals who have worked with students / adolescents before being counselors, enjoy interacting with adolescents and, precisely because of this, they are successful in their profession. 

They make a better connection and increase the chances of achievement with the students.

2.    Look for certified educational consultants. To the surprise of many, there are certifications in University Admissions! Independent consultants can and should be certified. 

       Currently, there are three certification programs, one of which is offered by UCLA and is called "The College Counseling Certificate Program".

This extensive online program is not only very demanding (it usually takes a year to complete it), but consists of seven courses, the last of which is a practical course that takes place in the Guidance Office of a high school.
